If you live in a glass house and I live in a glass house which one of us should throw stones…well in the case of Abortion those against it obviously feel that they should throw the stones…BIG Stones.
With news of events such as the recent Planned Parenthood Shooting in Colorado Springs, CO I immediately begin to think of all of the issues people have with Planned Parenthood, mainly the fact that they do abortions. The full details of the recent events at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado have not been released, but ones mind must instantly think Planned Parenthood was the target.
Planned Parenthood is often the target when it comes to anti-abortion groups and they usually are not afraid to stake out and speak up while holding fort right outside of the clinics. With the recent release of information from anti-abortion groups that Planned Parenthood clinics sell tissues leftover from abortions for profit, the abortion issue has escalated once again.
Personally my belief is this, if a woman finds herself pregnant and feels that she cannot or does not want to go on with the pregnancy that is her choice to have an abortion. Whether the pregnancy occurred within a relationship, as a result of rape etc. It is her choice and that choice should not be taken away from her.
When we begin to pick and choose what other people should and should not do with their lives we become hypocrites because I am pretty sure that if the book of our life was opened and read aloud chapter by chapter others would find many sinful acts that they feel we should have chosen a different path on.
Furthermore for those who base their dismay with abortion on their religious views maybe those people should get as close to the floor of their glass houses as possible when they throw their stones. How can so many people who fornicate on a daily basis be so adamantly against abortion? They will protest and scream that abortion is a sin and that harmless babies are being killed…well when you were fornicating (sinning) were you reflecting on your bible then? As you had sex were you thinking of how your fornicating is a minor sin compared to the big sins of the world? And are you better than the next person because if you do get pregnant by mistake while you are sinning at least you will keep your baby and not abort it because oh no you wouldn’t abort a baby that you conceived while fornicating…because abortion is a sin!
I am in no way saying that abortion should be a woman’s first option. Nor am I upholding those that use abortion as a form of birth control. But I am saying that it is a choice that a person should be allowed to make. I do not understand how sinners (all of us) are so against abortion but will quickly say on the subject of teens having sex “Well they are going to do it anyway so we can stop shoving abstinence down their throats.” So we have begun to accept fornication yet throw a bible at abortion? That confuses me.
Sex produces babies, not everyone wants a baby, not everyone is capable of caring for a child. I look at it like this: You fornicate and she fornicates, just because you had sex and didn’t get pregnant or had sex and kept the baby don’t do a holy dance and chunk a bible at someone who got pregnant and chooses not to keep the baby because at the end of the day you both were indulging in the same act.
But I forgot if you do something wrong faithfully it is no longer wrong right?
…and by the way, I hope the government NEVER gets control over what we can do with our bodies. They already control so much of our lives I guess controlling our bodies is bound to be next.
